2000 tonnes of adulterated imported salt seized

Staff Reporter :The Customs Intelligence has seized some 2000 tonnes adulterated salt worth Tk 1.68 crore, imported from China, at Chittagong port.Action on a tip-off the Customs seized those on June 20 and the samples were sent to the chemical laboratory of Chittagong where after primary test the presence of sodium chloride was confirmed. For further investigation, samples were also sent to the Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Department of Dhaka University. The department released its report on Monday.It revealed...
