UNB, Chittagong :
Chittgaong Police Institution earned an emphatic 271 runs victory over Chittagng Collegiate School in a zonal match of the National School Cricket Competition at the MA Aziz Stadium here on Sunday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Police Institution amassed 310 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs with Shahnewaz Turjo contributing 83 runs and Shafiqul Alam 77 runs.
Besides, Shahadat Hossain Dipu (26), Labib Quader (not out 19), Mozahid Munna (16) and Sarwar Hossain Sakib (16) were the other notable scorers for Police Institution while another 52 runs came from extras.
Moinuddin Raihan grabbed four wickets for 47 runs while Mehdi Hasan, Miftahuddin, Anik Hasan and Sharif Hossan Faisal took one wicket each.
In reply, Collegiate School were dismissed cheaply for 39 runs in 18.2 overs with eight of their batsmen returning to the pavilion with duck. Their highest 21 runs came from extras after Sajjad Hossain Anik scored 10 and Mehedi Hasan 8 runs.
Labib Quader claimed three wickets for 13 runs while Wasek Bin Taher and Ohi Mazhar took two wickets each.
