A police informer was beaten to death by drug traders in the city’s Khilgaon area on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Murad Hossain, 30, was son of one late Anwar Hossain and lived in Meradia area.
Local sources said that on Monday night, the killers called him out of his residence.
Mashiur Rahman, Officer in-Charge of Khilgaon Police Station confirmed the news to the media that a gang of miscreants locally known as drug traders beat Murad mercilessly at Meradia around 11:00 pm on Monday over previous enmity.
Critically injured Murad was firstly taken to Mugda General Hospital, but following deterioration of his condition, he was sent to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries around 5am.
Police also arrested three persons namely Sohel, Mintu and Milon in connection with the killing, OC added.
