Bangladesh police headquarters on Monday issued a statement saying Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Prison Partha Gopal Banik is not a police officer.
The statement of Bangladesh Police, which is the main law enforcement agency of the country, asserted that some newspapers published news mentioning Partha Gopal as a police officer which is unfortunate as he does not belong to Bangladesh police.
The statement said Bangladesh Police firmly believe that the media will play more responsible role in releasing /publishing news on law enforcement agencies in the days to come.
