Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque has mentioned that gunfight takes places fearing life risk of police during taking legal action against criminals.
“If someone died in gunfight, it takes place in a legal process. We have to be accountable for this sort of death,” he commented.
The police chief made the comment at an inaugural session of a training course ‘Intelligence Analysis for Tiger Range Country’ at Police Staff College in city’s Mirpur area on Sunday afternoon.
The Bangladesh Police and the Interpol have jointly organised the training course.
‘Terrorists have no political party, they only use the name of political parties for their own interest,” the IGP opined.
Zero tolerance should be shown against the terrorists in the country,” he added.
He also claimed that the situation of law and order has improved across the country comparing the previous days.
