Some activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP brought out a procession and staged demonstration at Zero point of Purana Paltan demanding resignation of the incumbent government on Monday. At that time they chanted various slogans demanding the fall of the government.
After a while police dispersed the protesters by charging batons.
Meanwhile, Shammilito Peshajibi Parishad organized a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital with Jafrullah Chowdhury in the chair in on Monday. Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, Mahmudur Rahman Manna and Shaukat Mahmud participated in the programme.
As soon as the programme was over, the leaders and activists gathered at Purana Paltan, and brought out a procession and staged demonstration. As a result, there was a terrible traffic jam on the road.
