The authority of Jessore police have taken punitive step against a police official of Kotwali police station on charge of making trap for two youths near Sonali Bank’s corporate branch in Jessore town at around 9:45pm on Saturday, Azmal Huda, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station confirmed.
The police official Mahbubur Rahman, sub inspector, Kotwali police station was closed from his duties and attached to Jessore police line for trying to arrest two youths- Shaishab and Subrata of Jessore town by pouring cannabis in the pocket of Subrata halting their motorbike while they were going home. Passersby came to the spot and confined the policeman hearing shouting during the matter. On information, the Kotwali police rushed to the spot and rescued their colleague. The police authority then took the punitive step against the official after getting him responsible primarily.
Confirming the information, Azmal Huda, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station told that the police official was closed to Jessore police line. He, however, said the official was victimized.
