Police dispersed the students of Polytechnic institutes who blocked the city’s Shahbagh intersection to press home to meet their four-point demand.
At that time, police arrested five protesters from the demonstration rally.
On Sunday, several hundred of students from different educational institutions of the country took part in the demonstration at 11 am.
At that time the protesters started uttering slogans marking their four point demand. These were examination under short syllabus, fast class introduction, cut of session fee and withdrawal of additional fees.
The slogans were: Our demands, our demands, must be realized.” “Two policies in one country, will not be allowed.
Everything in the country has been struck by the corona, and we are in a dilemma.” To solve the problem we want to get autopass immediately.
 Additional fees and semester fees will be reduced. Seats in different technology universities need to be increased, protesters’ added.
During the protest, police arrested five students. Officer-in-Charge of Shahbagh Police Station Mamun Aur Rashid confirmed the news and said that five people were arrested from the spot.
A case is being processed against the detainees on charges of obstructing police to discharge official work, and misconduct with the members of law enforcement.
Earlier, on February 3, polytechnic students formed human chain and brought out processions in front of different district press clubs across the country demanding four points.
