An incident of vandalizing of a police canteen located at Chittagong court building premises occurred on Monday evening left the canteen declared closed. The miscreants ransacked the properties of the canteen , sources said.
It is alleged that following the sequel of altercation with the driver Muklesur Rahman of District Judge, this unwanted incident occurred, eye witnesses sources said. The canteen at ground floor of the court building duly run by Chittagong Metropolitan police which is popularly known as police canteen.
Court sources said Driver Muklesur takes lunch in the canteen in the afternoon and altercation with the canteen manager broke out in between them over the payment of food bill.
At one stage, scuffle between Driver and Canteen Manager occurred. Later driver Muklesur went out from canteen and again turned in the canteen in the evening hours with some other drivers and unidentified persons and indiscriminately the canteen properties, eye witneeses sources said Police sources said Additional Deputy police commissioner (prosecution) Nirmalendu Chakraborty informed the matter to Distriict judge Nurul Huda immediate after the incident . court sources said Chief Judicial Magistrate will investigate the matter immediately as asked by the District Judged.
