Kartikkul police camp in-charge Hamid has been closed to the district police line over allegation of torturing a college student at the camp in the city’s Doulatpur area.
Deputy Police Commissioner (North) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Abdullah Aref said police has also been conducting a divisional investigation against the other police members alleged to be involved in the incident and action will be taken against those, if they are found guilt.
Imran Hossain, an HSC candidate of Khanjahan Ali Ideal College in Khulna, was reportedly tortured at Kartikkul police camp by seven policemen, including the camp’s in-charge Hamid, on January 5.
