Bangladesh Police beat Dhaka Riders by 2-0 sets in the opening match of the Men’s Division of the Walton Beach Throwball Competition at the Laboni Point in Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach on Saturday.
In the opening match of the Women’s Division, Jatrabari Sporting Club defeated Pabla Sabuj Sangha of Khulna by 2-0 sets at the same venue.
Earlier, General Secretary of Cox’s Bazar District Sports Association Anup Barua Apu inaugurated the throwball meet by releasing the balloons as the chief guest. General Secretary of Bangladesh Throwball Association Shamim-Al-Mamun was present at the time.
A total of four teams are taking part in the Men’s Division. They are: Bangladesh Police, Glorious Sporting Club of Dhaka, Dhaka Riders and Pabla Sabuj Sangha of Khulnda.
A number of three teams are competing in the Women’s Division. They are: Jatrabari Sporting Club, Khilgaon Samajkalyan Sangha and Pabla Sabuj Sangha of Khulna.
