Members of law enforcement agencies have been directed to monitor all social media platforms to prevent any kind of rumor or campaign aiming to destroy communal harmony during the upcoming Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of Hindu community.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary gave the direction while addressing a meeting on law and order and security during Durga Puja at the Police Headquarters

that he chaired on Wednesday afternoon. The IGP also asked them to take immediate steps to stop any propaganda that may hurt religious sentiments of any person or group as well as to take immediate action against people responsible for it, said AIG (Media) of the Police Headquarters Sohel Rana. He instructed the police officials to perform their duties with sincerity and professionalism so that Durga Puja is celebrated safely with religious solemnity.
