Two men were arrested in connection with selling dead cow’s beef in Savar on Saturday.
Butchers Abul Kalam and Omar Faruq were arrested, but the shop owner Raju Mia escaped during the police operation in the morning.
Sources said the meat shop owner Raju Mia often sells dead beef. Nothing could stop him from doing that.
The shopkeeper butcher Raju Mia was selling meat after slaughtering dead cow at Rupnagar Super Market of Savar Bazar Bus stand. An eyewitness told it to the customers and then the police getting the information went there and took the action.
Police detained butchers Abul Kalam and Omar Faruq from the meat shop.
Abul Kalam confessed to the police about the slaughtering of dead cows and collecting the cows from Chhayabithi area in Savar.
