Detective Branch of police on Friday afternoon arrested three Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh activists including its leader Khaled Saifullah from Narayanganj in a case filed by Chhatra League leader Shohag Rony’s father Haji Shah Jamal.
Two other detained are Hefazat activists Kazi Shomir and Ohid.
Earlier, police arrested 25 Hefazat activists in the district, said additional police super Hafizur Rahman.
On April 3, people found and surrounded joint secretary general of Hefazat-e Islam Mamunul Haque staying with a woman, who the radical group leader claimed to be his wife, at Royal Resort in Sonargaon of Narayanganj.
Following the incident, Hefazat activists attacked the resort and vandalised it. They attacked the houses of Chhatra League and Juba League leaders and Sonargaon Awami League office also.
At one stage, police freed Mamunul Haque from the agitated people.
Four different cases were filed in this connection.
