The 65th birth anniversary of noted poet Bimal Guha to be marked today at a programme which is scheduled to be held at 5:30pm at Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the National Museum in the city’s Shahbag area.
Emeritus Professor Dr Anisuzzaman will be present as the chief guest in the programme while Poet Hayat Mahmud, Poet Nirmalendu Goon, litterateur Selina Hossain, Poet Md Nurul Huda, poet Shymaol Kanti Das, Prof Abul Ahsan Chowdhury and Poet Kamal Chowdhury are expected to be present as special guests on the occasion. Prof Bishwajit Ghosh will preside over the function. The programme will be inaugurated by painting of noted artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury.
Bimal Guha was born on October 27 in 1952 in Chittagong. He completed masters from Chittagong University, PhD from University of Dhaka and also received higher degree in Printing and Publishing from Napier University, UK. Now he is working as faculty in Printing and Publication Studies at University of Dhaka. He received many prizes and awards in the field of writing. -Entertainment Report
