A poacher named Badsha Shikdar (50) was arrested along with flesh of spotted deer of Sundarbans from Tetulbaria area under Sharankhola Forest Range in the eastern Division of Sundarbans at Monday night, according to a delayed report received here. The arrested poacher is the son of one late Hashem Shikdar of village Uttar Tafalbari under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district.
It is learnt from Shamsul Haq, Station Officer of Sharankhola Forest Office that acting on secret information a team of forest guards raided the area and arrested the poacher from. Later the team searched the area and recovered 8 kgs venison, a 50 feet long trap of net and a country boat from there. In this connection a case was registered with Sharankhola PS under Forest Act and the arrestee was sent to Bagerhat jail that.
