PM’s shelter project in Bishwanath submerged

Twenty houses in the Mahtabpur area of Lamakazi Union under Biswanath Upazila have been submerged due to improper lifting of floor during the construction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s special project shelter Project in Sylhet. As the houses are on the banks of Surma river, the flood waters increased and the houses got flooded. During the construction, the local people repeatedly urged to build these houses, but the builders did not ignore.
At present, the residents of the submerged houses are making fish inside the house.
On August 18 a field visit on Tuesday it was seen that rain water had entered the house of the shelter project set up in the Mahtabpur area of Lamakaji. As a result, the beneficiaries are suffering severely.
Bishwanath Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Municipal Administrator Sumon Chandra visited the submerged houses.
 He said that the houses were flooded due to heavy rains. If it doesn’t rain, the water will go away in 2/1 days.
It may be mentioned that a special team of the Prime Minister has already visited Bishwanath in the wake of allegations of irregularities in the construction of cluster villages.
