PM’s homecoming day observed

Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and its front organizations celebrated the homecoming day of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through day-long programmes.
Chittagong city, north and south district units of AL celebrated the day through elaborate programmes including placing wreaths at Bangabandhu’s portrait at the party office in the morning, and holding discussion meetings, milad and doa mahfil.
Chittagong city unit of AL held a discussion meeting at Darul Fazal Market of Party office with Chittagong city AL vice president Noymuddin Chowdhury in the chair. AL leaders Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury, Khurshed Alam Sujan, Advocate Iftakher Saimul among others, spoke.
The speakers said the very existence of AL was saved after Sheikh Hasina’s return to her beloved Bangladesh on May 17, 1981.The nation fought the autocratic ruler under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina who is still continuing her struggle to save the country’s democracy, they added.
Meanwhile, different units of Bangladesh Chhatra League brought out several processions in different areas in the city marking the day.
