Food items have been distributed among 1,000 workers of Rangpur District Motor Workers Union as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The gift was distributed among the workers at Rangpur Central Bus Terminal on Saturday noon.
Abdul Aziz, acting president of the district motor workers’ union, Md. Manu Mia, co-president, MA Majid, general secretary, Ronachur Zaman Mintu, son-in-law, Idu Mia, road secretary and many others of the committee were present at the time.
Each was given 5 kg of rice, 2 kg of lentils and potatoes and 1 kg of salt as gifts of the Prime Minister distributed among the workers.
MA Majid, general secretary of the committee, said there are 6,160 working pea workers in Rangpur district. There are 3,000 workers in Rangpur Sadar.
He added that it would have been better if the Prime Minister’s gift items had been made a little more.
