PM wishes early recovery of Nurjahan Begum

At the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil on Monday visited Nurjahan Begum, the pioneer in women journalism in Bangladesh, at Square Hospital here on Monday.
Shakil stayed beside Nurjahan Begum, the country’s senior most female journalist and Editor of magazine “Begum”, and enquired about her health condition from the on-duty doctors.
While talking to Nurjahan Begum’s family members, the PM’s Special Assistant informed them that the Prime Minister expressed concern over the illness of the Begum Editor and wished her early recovery.
Nurjahan Begum is now undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Square Hospital following old-age complications. Nurjahan Begum gained popularity for her masterpiece magazine “Begum”.
She is a daughter of another prominent journalist Mohammad Nasiruddin, Editor of the then popular newspaper “Saogat”.
