Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over cheques for donation to ill, insolvent and accident-hurt journalists and family members of late journalists today. The donation will be given at the Shapla Hall of Prime Minister Office in the city under the Journalists Assistance Allowance or Donation Policy, 2012.
A total of 181 journalists and their family members will get donation of around Tk 1.20 crore in the 2014-15 fiscal year. Meanwhile, the journalists and family members of them who would get donation are requested to be present at the Shapla Hall by 9 am on the day.
Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu and journalist leaders are expected to be present on the occasion.
