Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the World Children’s Day and Child Rights Week-2019 at Bangladesh Shishu Academy auditorium on Wednesday.
Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and Bangladesh Shishu Academy have taken up various progammes to celebrate the week (from October 7 to 14) across the country, said an official release.
As part of the celebration, a children’s rally will be brought out from the Central Shaheed Minar on Monday.
Rallies, discussions, competitions and cultural programmes will also be held at the division and district levels.
The theme of International Children’s Day and Child Rights Week-2019 is, “Today’s children will bring light and keep the world good”.
Each year the Bangladesh government observes World Children’s Day in the first Monday of October and declares the week as the Child Rights Week, to raise awareness about the rights of children.
