Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has come forward to help the family of Shaheed HM Ibrahim Selim who was killed in the anti-autocratic movement in 1984.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave 15 decimals of land to Selim’s daughter Nusrat Jahan Ibrahim in their home town at a function at Ganabhaban, the official residence of the PM, here on Thursday afternoon.
Sheikh Hasina also gave a job of a private bank to Nusrat’s husband Md Kamruzzaman.
Bauphal Pourasabha Chairman Ziaul Haque Jewel was present on the occasion.
On February 28, 1984, Selim and Kazi Delwar Hossain, two Dhaka University Chhatra League leaders, were killed after a police truck ploughed into a student demonstration against the autocratic regime of HM Ershad in the capital’s Gulistan area.
The students were protesting against a decision of the autocratic Ershad regime to hold upazila elections.
