PM Sheikh Hasina’s cousin Hamida Wadud dies

Bangabandhu’s younger sister Khadija Hossain’s second daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s cousin Hamida Wadud Poly (68) is no more.
She died of a heart attack at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at 10:00am on Friday.
She left behind many admirers including a son, a daughter, grandchildren. Her husband, former Additional Secretary MA Wadud, died in 2014.
Her namaj-e-janaza was held after Juma prayers on Friday. She will be buried in her husband’s grave at Banani Grave Yard in the capital on October 4 at 10 am.
Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Imrul Kayes Rana confirmed the matter.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Hamida Wadud Poli, daughter of Khadiza Hossain who is the younger sister of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
Hamida died at the age of 68. She left behind one son, one daughter, two sisters, grandsons and daughters and a host of relatives and well wishers.
