The three-day-long fourth Regional Consultative Group (RCG) conference will begin in the city today.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the conference at Intercontinental Hotel around 10 am, Enamur Rahman, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Ministry, told journalists at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
RCG was established to tackle the major disasters and strengthening the Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination for Asia and the Pacific, to make plans in coordination
with the Civil and Military manpower, to practice and to implement disaster response programs, experience, teaching and exchange of information.
A total of 120 representatives from 26 countries and 24 regional and international organizations will take part in the conference, he said.
The government will strengthen the combination of civil and military to combat the situation arising due to the displaced Myanmar citizens entering Bangladesh, said the Minister.
