Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on Saturday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Nurun Nahar Begum, wife of former presidium member of AL and ex-MP valiant freedom fighter late Professor Kamruzzaman.
In a condolence message, the premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and convoyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, said a press release signed by Barrister Biplob Barua, office secretary of Bangladesh Awami League.
Nurun Nahar Begum, mother of AL central leader Parveen Jaman Kalpana, passed away this morning due to old-age complications at her own residence in the city at the age of 82.
She left behind two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death, the release added.
