Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday expressed profound shock at the death of Govinda Haldar , an eminent lyricist and music composer of many immortal songs of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.
In a message of condolence the Prime Minister said people of Bangladesh lost one of their real friends at his death.
She said many songs written and composed by Govinda Haldar were inspirations for Freedom Fighters and common people as well during the time of war in 1971.
People of Bangladesh will remember him forever, she said. Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the artiste and conveyed profound sympathy to his bereaved family members.
