Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday expressed deep shock at the death of Anup Bhattacharya, a freedom fighter and artiste of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.
In a condolence message, Sheikh Hasina said Anup Bhattacharya will be remembered with respect for his contributions to the music industry.
Hasina prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy for his bereaved family members.
Anup Bhattacharya, also a founding member of Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha and eminent composer, died at a hospital in the capital on Thursday at the age of 77.
