PM leaves for UK today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves here for London on Sunday morning en route to Bulgaria on a three-day official visit to the Bulgarian capital of Sofia to attend the ‘Global Women Leaders’ Forum.
Apart from joining the forum, the Prime Minister will hold official talks and tete-e-tete with her Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borissov, PM’s Press Secretary Ihasanul Karim told UNB.
A VVIP flight (BG-005) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage is scheduled to take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here for London on Sunday at 10.30 am.
The flight is expected to reach Heathrow International Airport at 4.15 pm (London time). Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Abdul Hannan will receive the Prime Minister at the airport.
She would then leave London for the Bulgarian capital by a British Airways flight (BA 0890) at 8.20 am (London time) on May 18.
The flight is scheduled to land at Sofia International Airport at 1.15 pm (Bulgaria time).
Minister of Culture of Bulgaria Vezhdi Rashidov, Executive Director, the Council of Woman in Business in Bulgaria Vanya Kaneva and Bangladesh Ambassador in Sofia Allama Siddiki will receive Sheikh Hasina at the airport.
After the reception at the airport, Sheikh Hasina will be taken to Hotel Marinela Sofia in a ceremonial motorcade where she will be staying during her visit to Bulgaria.
Hasina will attend the opening ceremony of the Global Women Leaders Forum in the afternoon at the National Art Gallery, Sofia, the same day (May 18) and deliver the keynote speech as the chief guest.
Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivaylo Kalfin, Minister of Energy Temenuzka Petkova, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova, UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Tsetska Tsacheva and CEO, Siemens Bulgaria and Chairperson of Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria Boriana Manolova will also deliver statements at the event.
