Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves here for Nay Pyi Taw on Monday on a two-day visit to Myanmar to attend the 3rd BIMSTEC Summit. The summit will be held at the Myanmar International Conference Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw, the Myanmar capital, on March 4, foreign ministry sources said.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and members of her entourage will take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here at 8 am. The flight is scheduled to reach Nay Pyi Taw international Airport at 10.15 am (Myanmar time).
A Union Minister of Myanmar and Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar Anup Kumar Chakma will receive Sheikh Hasina at the airport.
From the airport, she will be taken to Royal Nay Pi Taw Hotel, where she will be staying during her visit to Myanmar. The Prime Minister will lead a 32-member Bangladesh delegation at the summit. On the sidelines of the summit, Sheikh Hasina will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts of the BIMSTEC member countries, including India, Myanmar, Nepal and Bhutan, the sources said.
She will also meet Speaker of Myanmar Parliament Shwe Mann and Chairman of National League for Democracy Aung San Suu Kyi. The Premier will join a press conference for all heads of state and government of the BIMSTEC nations. She will also attend a dinner to be hosted by Myanmar President Thein Sien. Sheikh Hasina is expected to return home at 9.10 pm on Tuesday.
