Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves here Monday morning for Myanmar on a two-day visit to attend the third summit of the Bimstec (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation).
After a six-year break, Myanmar will be hosting the summit in its capital city of Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister will lead a 32-member Bangladesh delegation to the Summit. This is will be her first visit abroad since the formation of her government for the third time on January 12.
A flight of Biman
Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage will depart Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday at 8:00 am.
On her arrival at the Nay Pyi Taw international airport, Hasina will be received by a Union Minister of Myanmar and Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar Maj Gen (retd) Anup Kumar Chakma.
Later, she will be taken in a ceremonial motorcade to Royal Nay Pyi Taw Hotel where she will be staying during the two-day tour.
On the same day, the Prime Minister will meet Myanmar President Thein Sein at the Presidential Palace and Speaker Shwe Mann at his Parliament office.
