Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina flies to Saudi Arabia on Friday on a five-day bilateral visit to the Kingdom to
further expand ties between the two countries with a special focus on trade, investment and manpower export.
The two countries are likely to sign a number of instruments, including memorandum of understanding (MoU), on foreign office consultation, cultural and technological cooperation.
Foreign Minister Mahmood Ali said this while briefing the media at his ministry on Wednesday afternoon. Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque and senior officials of the ministry were present. “One of the objectives of the visit is to create new avenues of cooperation,” the minister told reporters.
The visit is taking place at the invitation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. During her visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will have a bilateral meeting on June 5 with the Saudi King in Jeddah when Dhaka and Riyadh will discuss the entire range of bilateral, regional and international issues. The Prime Minister will perform Umrah on Friday night.
