PM leaves for KL today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves here for Kuala Lumpur today (Tuesday) on a three-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of her Malaysian counterpart Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 10:10 am.
The flight is expected to reach Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 4 pm (local time).
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak extended the invitation to Sheikh Hasina during his visit to Dhaka in November 2013.
The Prime Minister will lead a 30-member delegation comprising Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan and high government officials.
On her arrival at the airport, the Prime Minister will be received by Malaysian Deputy Minister on Foreign Affairs Hamzah Zainuddin, Deputy Minister on Human Resources Haji Ismail Haji Abdul Muttalib and Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia AKM Atiqur Rahman.
After receiving a static guard of honour at the airport, Hasina will be taken in a ceremonial motorcade to Hotel Grand Hyatt at Kuala Lumpur where she will be staying during the visit.
In the evening, community members will call on Sheikh Hasina at the bilateral meeting room of her place of residence.
On Wednesday at 10:30 am, the PM will attend a dialogue on investment and trade opportunities in Bangladesh at Grand Hyatt Hotel and deliver a speech as well as exchange views with the participants.
Hasina will later go to Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office at Perdana Square in Putrajaya at 3 pm where she will be greeted by her Malaysian counterpart Mohd NajibTun Abdul Razak. She will attend the Official Welcoming Ceremony and be given guard of honour there.
Hasina will then have a restricted meeting for some time with her Malaysian counterpart.
She will then hold an official bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister at Perdana Meeting Room which will be followed by a signing ceremony in presence of both the leaders.
During the meeting, the two countries will discuss ways to strengthen ties in the areas of trade, tourism, culture, human resource development, higher education apart from touching upon regional and international issues of interest, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali told a press conference at the Foreign Ministry on Monday.
Four deals and MoUs-Protocol Amending the MoU of 2012 between Malaysia and Bangladesh on the Employment of Workers, MoU between Bangladesh and Malaysia on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism, Agreement between Bangladesh and Malaysia on the Partial Abolition of Visa Requirements and MoU between Bangladesh and Malaysia on Cultural, Arts and Heritage Cooperation-are expected to be signed after the bilateral meeting.
In the evening on that day, Sheikh Hasina will go to Seri Perdana-the official residence of Malaysian Prime Minister – at Putrajaya to join a dinner to be hosted in honour of her by her Malaysian counterpart.
After wrapping up her tour, the Prime Minister will leave Kuala Lampur for home on Thursday at 12:00 noon (local time) and is expected to reach Hajrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 2 pm (BST).
