Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined an iftar party hosted by President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
The President hosted the iftar party in honour of the Prime Minister, the Speaker, the Chief Justice, Cabinet members, MPs, foreign diplomats, eminent citizens and high military and civil officials.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, former President HM Ershad and Opposition Leader Raushon Ershad joined the iftar party.

Putul along her family members and members of the President’s family also attended the iftar.
On her arrival at Bangabhaban, the Prime Minister was received by President Abdul Hamid. Cabinet members, deputy speaker, PM’s advisers, Supreme Court Judges, cabinet secretary, the chiefs of the three services, PM’s principal secretary, foreign diplomats, Chief Election Commissioner, MPs , Attorney General, vice chancellors of public universities, lawyers, editors and senior journalists and a good number of eminent citizens and high military and civil officials also joined the iftar party.
The President and the Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and enquired about their wellbeing. Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.
