Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday hosted an Iftar reception in honour of professionals at her official residence Ganabhaban.
Vice-chancellors and teachers of public and private universities, journalists, physicians, engineers, lawyers and businessmen were among the guests.
The Prime Minister exchanged pleasantries with the guests.
A munajat was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the
departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other victims of August 15 massacre, martyrs of War of Liberation and heroes of the democratic movements.
Khatib of Baitul Mokarram National Mosque Moulana M Salauddin Ahmed conducted the munajat. National Professor Salauddin Ahmed, eminent jurist Barrister Rafiqul Huq, chief of army staff general Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, chief of naval staff Vice-Admiral M Farid Habib, chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mohammad Enamul Bari, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique iftar.
