Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has provided five buses for the students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College.
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation Chairman Farid Ahmed Bhuiyan handed over the buses to Major General
Ataul Karim Sarwar Hasan, Dhaka log area commander and chief patron of the institution, in front of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Saturday morning, said Rezaul Karim Shammi, ISPR assistant director.
Of the buses, one is double-decker, one 30-seated coaster and while three are single-decker, said sources at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Principal of the college Nur Nahar Yesmin and its teachers and students were present.
The teachers and students thanked the Prime Minister for providing the buses as gifts.
Earlier on July 29, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, first year students of the college, were killed as a bus ploughed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road in the capital.
