Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday laid emphasis on construction of more hostels for working women across the country, including the capital, to address their accommodation problem.
The Prime Minister said this in a meeting of the National Council for Women and Children Development (NCWCD) at her Tejgaon office. PM’s Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri briefed reporters after the meeting.

The meeting condemned the barbaric atrocities on women and children purportedly being carried by the BNP-Jamaat activists in the name of movement using them as political shields.
The PM’s Press Secretary said the government has been implementing massive development activities towards ensuring women and children development. The day’s meeting also discussed undertaking necessary activities for child development.
The meeting also discussed the progress of execution of the National Women Development Policy 2011 and issues of development of women entrepreneurs, VGD, VGF and other social safety net programmes. The meeting also discussed the progress of the last meeting of the Council.
