PM for avoiding double taxation with Czech Republic

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday stressed the importance of avoiding double taxation and forging an economic and defence cooperation with Czech Republic to further strengthen its ties with Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister put the emphasis when a delegation of Czech Republic attending the IPU Assembly here, led by Grospic, MP, met her at her office.
PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
He said the Prime Minister extended her thanks to the Czech delegation for coming to Bangladesh, saying, “Czechoslovakia had supported us during our War of Liberation.”
She also underscored the need for reviving the old relations between the two countries.
Mentioning the establishment of some 100 special economic zones across the country, Hasina said enough privileges and opportunities will be there for the Czech investors if they are interested to invest there.
She also put emphasis on further improving the business relations between the two countries.
In response, Grospic said, “Bangladesh has made amazing development, including achieving more than 7 percent GDP growth, under Prime Minister’s leadership.”
He also offered technical cooperation from Czech Republic to Bangladesh.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, PMO Senior Secretary Suraiya Begum and Honorary Consul of Czech Republic in Bangladesh ASM Mohiuddin Monem were present.
