UNB, Dhaka :
BNP on Tuesday claimed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is inaugurating different development projects through video conferencing as she ‘fears to go’ before people.
“This government is afraid of people as it’s not elected by them. We’ re observing that the Prime Minister is so much frightened about people that she doesn’t want to face them. The recent inauguration of six-seven bridges and culverts through video conferencing is the latest example of it,” said BNP senior leader ASM Hannan Shah.
Addressing a discussion in the city, he also said it
can easily be ascertained the sustainability of the rule of the current regime which is run by video conferencing.
Jatiyatabadi Tanti Dal arranged the discussion at the Jatiya Press Club. Hannan Shah, a BNP standing committee member, claimed that Awami League’s popularity has declined to such a level that it is now forcing BNP leaders and activists to join their party in a bid to increase the number of their party men.
“The ruling parity leaders from the top to the bottom are worried about its fast-waning popularity. They’re now picking up some weak-hearted BNP leaders and activists who are weighed down with cases and compelling them to join Awami League wearing their garlands,” he alleged.
Hannan Shah asked his party men to remain aware about the government’ s different plots, saying a tough time is ahead as the regime will try to give its last bite before its fall. About the killing of some ruling party men in so-called crossfire, he said the government is killing its won people in the name of gunfights with a political motive.
“The golden boys of the government are being killed in gunfights with a political motive. They’re killing them for fear that they will disclose the misdeeds of the government and names of order givers if the government is changed,” the BNP leader observed.
