Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday distributed 258 cheques worth Tk 10,47,40,000 among the family members of those died and got injured in petrol bomb attacks and affected vehicle owners during the violence unleashed by the BNP-Jamaat clique.
The Prime Minister distributed the cheques of financial assistance at her office.
Out of the amount, the family members of the dead and injured people received 193 cheques worth Tk 8,41,00,000 while some 65
owners of damaged vehicles received cheques of Tk 2,06,40,000.
PM’s Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri said the Prime Minister has so far distributed some 772 cheques of Tk 25,10,13,000 among the family members of the dead and injured and affected vehicle owners during the three months’ atrocities by BNP and Jamaat.
Out of the total amount, 281 cheques amounting to Tk 17,26,00,000 were issued among the family members of the dead and the injured while some 491 cheques worth Tk 7,84,13,000 were issued among the affected vehicle owners.
Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Moshiur Rahman Ranga, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, Whip Iqbalur Rahim Secretary General of Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Samity Khondoker M Enayet Ullah were, among others, present.
