UNB, Dhaka :
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities concerned to build a house for Rupna Chakma, the proud goalkeeper of Bangladesh Women Football Team that clinched the title of SAFF Women Championship 2022, at her Rangamati home town.
Hasina, who is now in New York to attend the 77th UNGA session, gave the directive after a picture of Rupna Chakma’s dilapidated house went viral on the social media and came to her notice.
PM’s Press Secretary Ihasanul Karim confirmed it to UNB.
However, Deputy Commissioner of Rangamati, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman visited the houses Rupna Chakma and her teammate Ritu Porna on Tuesday with sweets, fruits and flowers to greet them.
