Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of AKM Shihabuddin, a veteran diplomat and a member of Awami League sub-committee on the foreign affairs.
In a condolence message on Wednesday, the Prime Minister recalled the invaluable contribution of Shihabuddin to the War of Liberation.
“He was one of the diplomats who first expressed his allegiance to Bangladesh in 1971 after cutting ties with Pakistan,” she said.
