Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former general secretary of Barisal District Awami League Advocate Enayet Pir Khan.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said that the nation would remember Enayet Pir Khan forever for his contribution to establishing democracy and rule of law in the country as well as his praiseworthy role in the War of Liberation.
She said that in the death of Enayet Pir Khan, also the former president of Barisal District Bar Association, the people of Barisal has lost their guardian, while the Awami League has lost a trusted leader and the country lost an fearless patriot. Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed her profound sympathy to the bereaved family. Enayet Pir Khan died of a brain haemorrhage at Barisal Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday afternoon at the age of 73.
