Prime Minister and Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock at the death of SM Shafi, Joint Secretary of Khagrachhari AL and one of the coordinators of Chattogram Hill Tracts Peace Accord.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
In a separate condolence message, AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also mourned the death of SM Shafi.
SM Shafi breathed his last at 8:30 am today. He was 65.
The AL leader left behind wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives, well-wishers and followers to mourn his death.
