PM attends post-budget iftar

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday joined the post-budget iftar mahfil arranged by Finance Minister A M A Muhith at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on Tuesday. Muhith received the Prime Minister on her arrival at the venue around 6:30pm.
Later, Sheikh Hasina, accompanied by the Finance Minister, went round different tables set for the guests and exchanged pleasantries with them. A special
munajat was offered before the iftar seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation and the eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other martyrs of the August 15carnage and the martyrs of the Liberation War. Pesh Imam of Ganobhaban Jame Masque Mawlana Mohammad Atiqur Rahman conducted the munajat.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazle Rabbi Mia, Deputy Leader of Jatiya Sangsad Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Chief Justice SK Sinha, PM’s daughter Saima Hossain, ministers, advisers to the Prime Minister, leader of the opposition Begum Raushon Ershad, state ministers, MPs and Attorney
General Mahbube Alam joined the iftar party. Prime Minister’s Special Envoy and Jatiya Party Charman HM Ershad, Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, JSD President Hasanul Haque Inu as well as leaders of other political parties, secretaries, high government officials, business leaders, leaders of professional bodies, educationists, editors of leading national dailies also attended the iftar.
