An audio clip of the telephone conversation between Gano Forum leader Mostafa Mohsin Montu and one Shawkat about a plot to kill Dr Kamal has gone viral on the social media.
The leaked audio clip released on Wednesday through various social media platforms, including Facebook.
In the conversation, Shawkat, introducing himself a member of (Bangladesh Liberation Force (BLF), advised Montu to take necessary security measures for the safety of Dr Kamal Hossain, citing the killing plot.
When asked, Montu admitted the matter but he claimed that he did not know Shawkat who made the phone call informing him the assassination plot.
“I immediately conveyed the matter to Dr Kamal,” Montu said, adding, “As he called me I just answered. I do not need to know who is Shawkat. Police should find out him if they need. What is the problem?”
The leaked conversation is given below:
Shawkat: Montu Bhai I’m Shawkat… BLF.
Mostafa Mohsin Montu: Yes. How are you Shawkat?
Shawkat: I’m fine and you? I called you to convey an important information. You should take Dr Kamal Hossain anyway to the safe custody.
Mostafa Mohsin Montu: Well …
Shawkat: Because, there may be an attempt on Dr. Kamal Hossain …and it would be done to gain political advantage. If money does not work, BNP in their last effort will kill Dr. Kamal Hossain. Dr. Kamal Hossain is not their own party man. Once he is killed, BNP will be politically benefited.
Mostafa Mohsin Montu: Hmm.
Shawkat: Understand, you should immediately take steps, Montu Bhai since you are ones, I am one of your partners. I have received this news from London, close aid of Tarique Rahman. You know that all the BNP leaders in London are from Sylhet. He is very close to Tarique Rahman. Seven killers (Pakistani) have already entered Bangladesh from Dubai.
