Disappearance of journo Utpal: ‘Please bring my son alive’

Family members of Utpal Das, a reporter of purboposchimbdnews.com, who disappeared since October 10, urged the government to get back Utpal alive.
 “Please don’t kill my son. Please return him to us alive. I hope that the government as well as the law enforcers agencies could rescue my son,” Utpal’s father Chitta Ranjon Das lamented.
He said this in a press briefing held in the Bangladesh Crime Reporters’ Association on Thursday.
Chief Editor of purboposchimbdnews.com Peer Habibur Rahman and Editor Kujista Nur-e-Naharin and Utpal’s elder sisters Binita Rani Das and Babita Rani Das were present on the occassion.
Chitta Ranjon said that Utpal phoned his mother on October 10 and shortened conversation that someone was calling him. It was the last communication with the family members. After then, his phones were found switched off and they started looking for him.
 “Two men contacted me and sought compensation. But the calls were false,” he said.
Chitta Ranjon said that he believed that his son still now in alive. “My son cannot die. There is no reason of his sad end of life. Please search for my son and bring him to us.”
Peer Habib Rahman said that his news portal purboposchimbdnews.com was closed. What is the reason behind closure of the portal he doesn’t know.
 “I went to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) for learning about the closure of my portal. Utpal also went there several times. But there is no relation with closure of the portal to disappearance of Utpal,” Peer Habib Rahman said.
Two General Diaries were lodged with Motijheel Police Station, no one was indented in this connection till yesterday night.
