UNB, Dhaka :
A petition has been filed with the Supreme Court seeking its directives to stay the government’s decision to block all the unregistered SIMs after May 31.
Supreme Court lawyer Anik R Haque filed the petition on Monday. The petition is likely to come up for hearing at the Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division on Tuesday. Talking to reporters, Barrister Anik said although the High Court declared the
ongoing SIM/RUIM registration through the biometric process valid, it is yet to release its full verdict. “We would have moved the Appellate Division after receiving the full text of the judgment but the government declared that all the unregistered SIMs would be cut off from May 31 if the re-registration under the biometric method is not completed by this time,” Anik R Haque said.
