South African speed star Kagiso Rabada made a massive and important statement on the issue of colour discrimination opportunities. He said that merit matters most in case of getting chance in the national squad instead of the colour quota system.
As per the rules of the Cricket South Africa, the national team requires to average 55% players of colours in all formats. But this policy will not be applicable for the Cricket World Cup 2019 which is taking place in England and Wales. According to the CSA CEO Thabang Moroe, there will be no system of colour quota for the Proteas in the mega tournament.
On asking Rabada on this issue, he expressed that he is completely fine with this decision of CSA as he feels that the selection of the players to the national side should be done only on the basis of performance and talent.
