Pacer Kemar Roach of West Indies said, ” To play a Test match against Bangladesh is special something. The pace battery of the Caribbean team can make problems for ace batsmen like Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan and others.”
The West Indies team, which arrived in the city to play two Test matches against Bangladesh are an inexperienced side. The Caribbean team will play Test matches against Bangladesh without their experienced skipper Jason Holder. Besides, experienced Kieron Pollard, Darren Bravo did not come Bangladesh due to personal reasons.
Pacer Kemar Roach bagged 33 wickets against Bangladesh playing only eight Test matches. He showed a satisfactory performance against Bangladesh.
Roach said, “Sharon Gabriel, Alzarri Joseph and I performed well against Bangladesh.”
Kemar Roach made his Test debut against Bangladesh in 2009. Roach said, ” It is a special thing for us to bowl against Bangladesh batsmen. I played against Bangladesh in One Day International (ODI) matches and Test matches . Batsmen of Bangladesh always give a good fight and they are a mentally tough out-fit. Bangladesh batsmen always try very hard to do the right thing. We have to focus on what we do, execute our plans and play Test cricket as hard as we can.”
Bangladesh will take on West Indies in the first ODI on January 20, face the Caribbean team in the second ODI on January 22, meet West Indies in the third ODI on January 25.
The Tigers will face West Indies in the first Test, which begins on February 3, while the hosts will meet the visitors in the second Test, which starts on February 11.
